Music for Change moving on in Amman
The Music for Change project in Amman has finished its pilot period, and is now ready for the next phase.
By Mai Hoff Skovgaard13. March 2011
We are busy planning the next phase for the Music for Change project. On February the 19th we had an evaluation meeting with some of the participants from the first phase in order get their feedback. The very next day, on Sunday Feb. 20th, we met with some of the music trainers to plan the workshops for the next phase. Together, we have now planned three different sequences of four workshops each on the following topics: Arabic singing, lyrics writing, and rap/hip hop. We are now working on expanding our program for this phase by looking for more voluntary trainers and finding interested and committed participants to attend to workshops
If you are interested or know anybody with music training ambitions, please write to Mai: pa1@ms.dk

Through workshops with youngsters facilitated by music teachers, music is used as a means of self-expression, social development, and general civic engagement. The main purposeof thee programme is to open marginalized young people’s eyes to their own potential for self-organization and change.
The Music for Change project finished in December a two months pilot period, and now it is ready for the next phase.
