RAPOLITICS on the hunt
“I’ve been so busy meeting potential partners and artists here in the Levant, that my blog is still in Lebanon” Kim Karina Kristensen, co-chair at the Danish non-profit association Rapolitics, tells us as we meet her in Amman.

Kim has been blogging to the Danish followers of RAPOLITICS on mashriq.rapolitics.org, taking inspiring photos on her journey.

“Rapolitics is about engaging youth with the empowering skills of writing, performing and teaching rap as a form of self-expression,” Kim punctuates, adding a professional breeze to her cool attitude.
Started only in 2009, the association has already been starting up projects in Denmark and Bolivia, and they have played a part in the establishment of the Social Arts Center in Gaza. Furthermore, they have plans for a project in Egypt.
Funded by the DEMENA pool and supported by ActionAid Denmark, Rapolitics is now searching for potential partners, artists and projects in Lebanon, Syria and Jordan.
“It is truly a privilege to have met just a few of the very talented artists and engaged organisations of this region”. Having met with dozens of interested people in Beqaa Valley, Beirut in Lebanon and Damascus in Syria, Kim is now ready to take on Jordan, as she is moving on to join a meeting with a volunteer music teacher from Zarqa.
